The original project comprised renovations, additions and strengthening of an existing 3-story NAB Building and construction of a new covered structure and Utility Building. PCB International prepared design calculations and shop details for seismic bracing of all HVAC installation and ceiling grid. The main challenge was producing effective attachment of the braces to existing 2-inch thick concrete suspended slabs. Renovation of the NAB was abandoned to make way for the construction of a new RNAB. By this time 85% of seismic design and details had been completed.
